This piece captures what was probably a cherished landmark, a small dog park within a city heritage park, a big old familiar welcoming tree. Below the tree, a picnic table and a park bench would sit. It was a familiar, welcoming face. A silent giant that, in the summer, would provide shade and comfort from the noonday sun. People would bring their dogs and kids, all to have fun.

The Artistry
Photographed with a Mamiya RZ67 medium format camera and Ilford SFX black & white film, this image achieves a vintage, timeless look. I utilized an infrared filter to enhance the film's unique properties, highlighting the tree's foliage and surrounding grasses.
